Hive Hunt is in beta — details may change.
Gameplay
1
Read the hive
Seven letters, one highlighted in the middle. Every answer has to use that
center letter.
2
Type your words
No command — type words of four or more letters built only from the seven
(letters can repeat). First to type each word locks it.
3
Rack up finds
Keep going — every locked word is a point, and pangrams are the trophies.
How the hive works
Only the seven letters are in play, every word must contain the center letter, and each valid word is claimed by whoever types it first.Use only the seven letters and always include the center — first to type a valid word locks it
- Four letters or more. Shorter attempts don’t count.
- Only the seven letters, and they can repeat within a word.
- Always the center letter. A word without it is rejected, however valid it otherwise is.
- First to type it locks it. Each valid word scores its finder a point; duplicates after that don’t score.
- Pangrams use all seven letters — they trigger a celebration and can be worth a bonus (see Configuration).
Configuration
Puzzles. How many hives make up the session.
Puzzle timer. How long each hive stays open before it auto-reveals; the host
can also reveal early, and a hive ends immediately if chat clears every word.
Pangram bonus. Extra points on top of the usual +1 for a pangram — set
above zero to reward the hardest finds and dial back tiny-word spam.
Hint gift. An optional gift that surfaces a partial word (see
Gifts).
Layout
Hive Hunt — play surface
- Marquee — game title and how-to hint.
- Puzzle + timer strip — puzzle number, find count, and the countdown.
- Honeycomb — the seven letters, center highlighted.
- Found words — words locked so far, newest on top, with the finder.
- Leaderboard — players ranked by words found.
Gifts
Hive Hunt’s hint gift surfaces a skeleton of one word chat hasn’t found yet — its leading letters shown, the rest masked. It favours pangrams, then the longest remaining word, and always leaves at least one letter hidden, so it’s a nudge, not a giveaway: chat still has to type the word to lock the point. It’s off unless the host sets it.Scoring
- Every locked word is +1; a pangram is +1 plus the configured pangram bonus.
- The session leaderboard ranks by total words found; the most across all puzzles wins, and ties are shipped as co-winners.
- Points feed the per-streamer tally behind avatar ring tiers. Wins are tracked per streamer.
