# Read My List

> Rapid-fire — name more, guess the category, race to the target

A fast list game built from one deck of three card types. Some cards give you a
category and a few seed items and ask you to name more; some hide the category
and drip clues until you can name it; some are pure lightning rounds. Every
correct call is a point, and the first chatter to hit the target score wins.

## Gameplay

## The three card types

One deck shuffles three kinds of card together, so the room never settles into a
single rhythm — a naming sprint, a deduction, and a lightning round all share
the same scoreboard.

* **LIST** — a category plus a few seed items. Name *more* things that fit;
  **+1** each, first to say it. Copying a seed or an already-named item doesn't
  count.
* **CATEGORY** — the category is hidden and member clues reveal one at a time.
  Name the category itself; the reward tiers **3 → 1** as more clues show.
* **LIGHTNING** — a subject with no seeds. Rapid-fire as many fitting items as
  you can; **+1** each, go fast.

## Configuration

**Target score.** The number of points a chatter needs to win. The session also
ends if the deck runs out — highest score takes it.

**Hint gift.** An optional gift whose effect matches the current card (see
[Gifts](#gifts)).

## Layout

1. **Marquee** — game title and how-to hint.
2. **Card-type tag** — LIST, CATEGORY, or LIGHTNING for the current card.
3. **Prompt panel** — the category and any seed items, or the clues as they
   drop.
4. **Named items** — the answers claimed on this card so far.
5. **Leaderboard** — players ranked by total points.

The game moves through **Lobby → Round → Revealed → Finished**.

## Gifts

Read My List's hint gift **helps on the current card**, and its effect fits the
card type:

* On a **LIST** card, it reveals an initial for one un-named item (up to three
  across the card).
* On a **CATEGORY** card, it cracks a letter of the hidden category.
* On a **LIGHTNING** card, it triggers a short double-points surge (up to twice
  a card).

It's off unless the host sets it, and it never hands over a full answer — it
just tilts the current card in the room's favor.

## Scoring

* Every claimed item or category is **+1** (CATEGORY cards pay **3 → 1** by how
  many clues were showing).
* Points accumulate across cards; the first to the target score wins, or the
  highest score when the deck runs out. Ties ship as co-winners.
* Points feed the per-streamer tally behind
  [avatar ring tiers](/games/leaderboards). Wins are tracked per streamer.
